Alright, i did write like 3 paragraphs before but then i clicked Submit Reply and it wanted me to login. GOD THAT GETS ON MY FREAKIN NERVERS!!! so im not gonna retype everything. But i will type the product names

Here is what you should get if you are going to spend 2-3k:

Nvidia 790i SLI Ftw motherboard
Corsair 1000w PSU
2 GTS 250's SLI

ZeroTherm Nirvana CPU cooler( E X T R E M E L Y HIGHLY RECCOMENDED)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...herm%20nirvana

Dont get COrsair RAM, Corsair ram is way to overrated for its abilities, it is good but not 300$ good. Try OCZ Gold plated RAM its nice.

As for a Hard Drive i would go with the company "Western Digital" And get however many GB you need.

The rest is up to you man get what personalizes your computer.
Cathodes
LED Fans
Custom Paint jobs
Fan Controller

Anyway it is 12:11 at night and i got to wake up at 6:00 so i gotta go, Hope you can find what you need man.

Yea I'm gonna be running (after xmas time) 2 x gtx260, i7, a new mobo that can fit all that, new case that can fit all that and my current sound card, and maybe some of the new ddr3 ram. Oh and I need a bigger HD too. Other than that everything is coming from my old system, which is what, my psu? LOL. I should be good to go for awhile after that.

I have yet to use anything other than AMD so if I go with an i7 then it will be my first intel. They are getting great reviews and if you are looking for a high performing cpu, the i7's seem to be the choice.

I would really take anything thats better than my way outdated machine. Total computer rebuild this holiday season.

If you do stay with AMD, for 2K you can build the best AMD quad system with 2 SLI cards. No problem. Just use NewEgg and Frys. Try not to buy a case with an include Power Supply. It's better to research the PS separately and buy it.

it depends on weather your mobo supports the newer cards options like pcie2.0

with your system maby just look into som 8800's

but if you can get away with it do dual 260's.

I was gonna do dual 295 setup but its not meshing with my setup. so im going back to the 260's i had prior.

sli 260's will still handle 16q and 32q settings you just dont get the preformance in non static applications.

the 192 core setup has prooven stable in both gameing and codeing applications (cuda, c++, ect.)

heres my build now that its complete:
Manufacturer: N!N inc.
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM pc 1600 7-7-7-20 (patriot viper gameing series)
Hard Drive: 1.5 TB baracuda 3.0gbs
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (x2 sli 16x)
Monitor: AOC 2236vW
Sound Card: 5.1 (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Speakers/Headphones: 5.1 custom w/ 2x 12' sub on 125w optimus
Keyboard: Kensington
Mouse: Razer copperhead
Mouse Surface: N!N's Game pad
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Motherboard: msi NF980-G65
Computer Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 Black Steel ATX

Price: roughly 1600$ all purchased w/ os, off of newegg.

NOTE: if your gonna build a whole new system wait for the 6 cores amd's and wait for the 400 series of nvidia so you will have dirext x 11.
